First Friday Shows

I've had a lot of people ask me about first friday and what it's all about. Is it just a downtown thing? My answer goes something like this: It's a way for businesses to support local and regional artists by showcasing their work for a month at a time. It's kind of a symbiotic relationship in that the artist benefits from the clientele that already frequents the business, and the business benefits from new customers that came in support of the artist. And perhaps it's just another excuse to hang out with your friends and maybe make some new ones on a friday night. And that's precisely what happened last night.
